BIO

Julie Bitsch (b. 1979) works with movement and deposits from transient encounters imbued in miscellaneous surfaces and objects. Her work explores duration in social, spatial and emotive encounters and the historic trace we leave on the surface of things. Bitsch earned her MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2010 where she majored in contemporary sculpture. She has produced several public sculptures and exhibited her work in both Denmark and abroad. Her preferred mediums are wax, plaster, concrete, hair, salt, bronze and chewing gum.
